The WEBCON BPS add-in enables platform integration with:
- MS Outlook
- MS Outlook Light
- MS Word – description of this integration is in a separate article
- MS Teams – description of this integration is in a separate article
This article describes how to integrate the WEBCON BPS add-in with MS Outlook and MS Outlook Light.
To download the add-in, go to the main page of the Portal and click your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then, click the “Install MS Office add-ins” -> Outlook”.

- The add-in must be downloaded from the same version of the Portal which is used in the company. Otherwise there will be no compatibility between the add-in and Portal and you will not be able to use it.
- Downloading the add-in must be done via Internet Explorer.
After clicking the button, the system will open the add-in installation window:
Next, click the “Install” button and after successful installation close the window by clicking “Close”.

After installing the add-in in MS Outlook, it will be available in a dedicated area in MS Outlook.

After successful add-in installation, create a profile – click the “Profile settings” -> “Add” button.

After opening the card, fill in the “Name” (profile name) and the “BPS Portal address” fields (domain name on which the Portal is located). Save the changes by clicking “Save”.

In the next step the system will ask you for a login and password for the Portal. If the “Log in via browser” field is checked, the system allows you to authorize by using the browser.

You should log in with the same data as for the Portal.
To install the add-in for MS Outlook Light, go to the WEBCOB BPS Portal and click your profile icon. Next, click the “Install MS Office add-in” -> “Outlook Light” (web version) option.

The window with two images will appear on the screen showing the appearance of the add-in. Click the “Download Outlook Light add-in manifest file” option.

You must download the add-in from the Portal level which you want to integrate with MS Outlook. The system automatically places the Portal address in the manifest file, from which the add-in was downloaded.
To install the add-in in the web version, log in to Outlook 365 in your browser. Next, click the “New message” button and in the window for creating a new message, select the “…” icon and then, the “Get add-ins” option.

Go to the “My add-ins” tab and expand the “Add a custom add-in” list, and select the “Add from file” option.

After opening the browser, select the manifest file downloaded from the Portal and then, the system will start the process of installation.
After the installation completes, go to the MS Outlook settings and select the “View all Outlook settings” option.

Then go to the “Mail” tab -> “Customize actions” and check the WEBCON BPS add-in option. The add-in will become active.

The possibilities of add-in for MS Outlook Light
To use the add-in, enter the received message and click the WEBCON BPS icon.

The system will show various options for action:
- Show context item form – the system will open an instance to which the e-mail message relates
- Show BPS Portal – the system will open the main page of the Portal
- Show my tasks – the system will open the active tasks waiting for us in the system
- Show search – the system will open the system search engine
Add-ins to MS Outlook and MS Outlook Light allow you to use the possibilities of the WEBCON BPS Portal by using the Outlook client.
