Article aims to show minimal (absolutely minimal) environment parameters, needed to run WEBCON BPS system.
Please note! Configuration shown below is not recommended as production environment for WEBCON BPS in case of more than 10 users working at the same time. Such configuration is dedicated for tests or demonstrations.
WEBCON BPS consists of few functional elements:
- WEBCON BPS SharePoint components
- WEBCON BPS service
- SQL database
- WEBCON BPS Designer Studio
In case of minimal configuration for running WEBCON BPS, one may use single machine with software given below:
- Windows Server 2008R2 or newer
- SharePoint Foundation 2013
- SQL Server 2012 Express with Advanced Services (Full Search component is necessary)
- Configured Active Directory service
Hardware requirements for such installation should correspond with hardware requirements for installation of SharePoint Foundation 2013 on a single server. Such requirements are shown in a table (according to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485(v=office.15).aspx#reqOtherCap )
|Installation Scenario||Deployment type and scale||RAM||Processor||Hard disk space|
|Single server with a built-in database or single server that uses SQL Server||Development or evaluation installation of SharePoint Server 2013 or SharePoint Foundation 2013 with the minimum recommended services for development environments.||8 GB||64-bit, 4 cores||80 GB for system drive|
|Single server with a built-in database or single server that uses SQL Server||Development or evaluation installation of SharePoint Server 2013 or SharePoint Foundation 2013 running Visual Studio 2012 and the minimum recommended services for development environments.||10 GB||64-bit, 4 cores||80 GB for system drive|
It is recommended to use 12 GB RAM or more.
Please note! Using SQL in 2012 Express version limits size of single database to 10 GB. Machine with given parameters, allows to run WEBCON BPS for tests or for small production installation operating up to 10 users.
